International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR), Rotterdam, Netherlands, 25 Jan-5 Feb 2012

Rights Stuff MD, Wendy Bernfeld, will be attending IFFR as buyer.  On 30 January Wendy will also join in a Cinemart Power Lunch  to discuss issues relating to digital distribution, as well as participating in the Transmedia Europe Network brainstorm (internal session) and related hosted by MEDIA Desk NL.

She will outline various new approaches and opportunities regarding producing / distributing / funding films, embracing cross- platform / transmedia. Examples include via international VOD platforms, brands, tech companies and via innovative (non traditional) ''windows''.

Wendy Bernfeld, founder and MD of the international  VoD/new media film licensing consultancy Rights Stuff (www.rights-stuff.com),   will provide a short introductory overview presentation on recent trends in the digital media landscape. She highlights  in particular some  recent cross platform/transmedia approaches,along with the newer VOD/new media business models,  and related rights issues. Pragmatic topics  include: balancing the various middlemen ('eg ''split rights'' deals) and DIY,  conflicts with funding broadcasters and/or sales agents/traditional distributors/ digital distributors;  and   traditional vs innovative  ''windowing'' (eg reverse or ''day and date'' windows).
